Food For Thought: Pokemon Colosseum/XD Gale of Darkness (Part 1)

Image
Several years ago I made the decision to start replaying the games I loved when I was young, though it wasn’t until last year that I actually started making that happen, where I started by replaying the original Spyro and Ratchet and Clank Trilogies (which I'm sure I'll get around to posting about eventually). Several weeks ago I made the plunge and decided I’d finally get around to replaying Pokémon Colosseum, and Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness, which was something I'd been putting off for a while. Much like my “review” for Super Mario Odyssey, this will just be my ramblings, thoughts and semi-review on the game, and of course, it will contain spoilers, so you’ve been warned. Pokemon Colosseum and XD are the first core-RPG Pokemon games to appear on a home console. Whilst the gameplay and storyline are minimal, the essential plot is to capture and purify all the Shadow Pokemon - which are Pokemon that have had the door to their heart closed - and stop the evil team from

Animal Crossing - Deep Dive

Image
Join us as we go dive into the very first Animal Crossing title and search for any unused, scrapped, or forgotten content! To understand exactly what the first Animal Crossing title is, we'll go into a brief history of the first games existence. Originally a Japan-only title,  Doubutsu no Mori was a game made for the Nintendo 64. Eight months later, an enhanced port, titled  Doubutsu no Mori+ was release in Japan for the Nintendo GameCube. Shortly after that, the West was introduced to a game known simply as Animal Crossing for the Nintendo GameCube, which was a localized and enhanced port of the previous Japanese title,  which did not receive a Japanese release. Then finally, Japan received a game known as  Doubutsu no Mori e+, which was again, another enhanced port of the Western exclusive title, Animal Crossing, and thus, the cycle ended. Of course, each time a game is enhanced and re-released, certain content is either forgotten about, or cut entirely, and that's what

Animal Crossing Merch Coming to Japanese 7-11′s via “lottery”

Image
Announced in Famitsu, a special lottery will be taking place at 7-11 Ita-Yadoka stores in Japan from March 17th. Ita-Yadoko is a Japanese general merchandise store owned by the 7-11 group. It costs 620 yen to participate in the lottery-type game and offers various pieces of Animal Crossing merchandise as rewards. The prizes include unique Timmy/Tommy pillows, Animal Crossing themed mugs, hand-towels and dishes, all Animal Crossing amiibo (excluding Summer Isabelle), and a very cute themed tea pot. Whilst we may be looking into things, could this merch be a sneaky way to hint at a new Animal Crossing game to come in the future? Source

"Final Wave" of Gen III Pokemon Come to Pokemon GO

Image
Announced this morning, the final wave of Gen III Pokemon will be arriving in Pokemon GO on February 9th. The wave will include mainly flying-type Pokemon, with some few additions such as Beldum and Chimecho. Rayquaza will also make it's debut as a raid boss. In addition to this, Hoenn Pokemon will completely take over wild encounters until February 13th, and a bunch of new raid bosses and egg hatches are arriving on the scene as well. New special boxes which include raid passes, incubators and star pieces will also be available in the shop, and lure modules will remain active for 6 hours, until February 23rd. Whilst The Pokemon Company did announce this as the "final wave" of Pokemon from the Hoenn region, this choice of wording was left out from the Official Pokemon GO's announcement, as Pokemon such as the Nincada and Clampearl families, Spinda, and Kecelon still seem to be missing (and of course, Smeargle from Gen II). When these Pokemon will finally be add
