Even though we reviewed the game earlier in the year for the PS4, we've got out hands on the Nintendo Switch version and will be going into a mini review, filled with first impressions and comparisons. Much like the PS4 version, only the first game is present on the physical copy, with the other two needing to be downloaded. In the Switch's case, this download is ~9GB. It's a shame this is still the case for later versions of the game, as it would have been cool to see everything finally on the physical copy. Being a Switch title, the game obviously saw a downsize, but at first glance you can't really notice much difference as the game still looks great. Granted, we've always preferred gameplay over graphics and framerate. That said, we could definitely see the framerate dropping during the loading sections between worlds, but for a game that looks this good to run on the Switch, this was to be expected. Announced during Nintendo's E3 presentation last week, was the news that the Spyro Reignited Trilogy would be coming to the Nintendo Switch later this year. Though a lot of speculation lead many to believe the game would be coming in August, it doesn't seem they were too far off the mark, with the game officially announced to be coming to the platform on September 3rd. Much like the existing versions, it also seems only the first game will be on the cart, with the other two needing to be downloaded from the eShop. A Spyro remaster is something fans (myself included) have wanted for an eternity now. After a few rumblings earlier this year, the Spyro Reignited Trilogy was officially confirmed to be in the makings by Toys For Bob, and the flood gates opened. Fans were incredibly hyped for this game, yet still wanted it to stay true to the originals. But does the remaster live up to the hype? Let's find out! To kick things off, you'll notice you'll need to download both games 2 and 3 if you buy a physical copy of the game. The "patch" for the download is around 15GB, so for those with slow internet connections, it may take a while for them to download the games and be able to play the sequels. After months of rumours and teasing, Activision and toys for bob finally revealed their plans to remaster the original Spyro games, known as the Spyro Reignited Trilogy. Currently, the game is slated for a September 21st release, which includes remastered version of Spyro the Dragon, Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage, and Spyro Year of the Dragon. Although the original rumor stated the game would have a one year exclusivity to the PlayStation 4, before releasing on other platforms (including Switch), this seems to not be true as the game will be launching both on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Although no plans for a Switch version has been announced, the game is being worked on by Toys for Bob (who are working on the Crash N. Sane Trilogy for Switch), and Nintendo UK accidentally put the game up for preorder (and quickly removed it!), so it seems likely the game will see a Switch release in the near future.
