Animal Crossing New Leaf - Day 179: Let It Snow!

Last Nights Caper
I watched some more Pokemon, but nothing too interesting apart from that.

Day 179

Woohoo! After 178 days of game play, we finally made it to the snow (now we enjoy like 3 months of snow before it goes away for another year). Also I hope you like my winter outfit, I put it together last night right before I stopped playing, so I could wear it first thing this morning!

I decided to get the completion ceremony for the statue fountain out of the way, so that's the first thing I did.

Shortly after, Annalisa suggested we build an outdoor chair, I don't think I'll build one, as it's not in Skyfall's style. But seriously, Annalisa has suggested the last four public works project, all within a week... My other villagers better step up their game!

Speaking with Ricky also reminded me that Jacques was sick, so I headed on over to the Nooklings to buy him some medicine. Tomorrow should be his last dose, then he should be all fine the day after.

As I was checking with Booker to see if Skyfall had any visitors today (it did not - though Phineas came in the afternoon), I stopped a lost item right next to the police station, hidden away behind some bamboo. I picked it up and went off to find it's owner.

I managed to find the first of Skyfall's snowballs after a good 10 minutes search (yeah don't ask me why it took so long, I have no idea). So, I rolled it over to the police station (where I wanted to build my first snowman), and then waited for a dung beetle to appear. Of course, with my luck, it was only 4pm, and dung beetles don't appear until 5pm. So I set off to search for the other snowball, and rolled it over with the other one, and waited an hour until 5pm rolled by.

And now, I've caught every kind of bug. I had a slight moment to express my enjoyment, and a while later Phineas showed up to give me a badge for completing the bug encyclopedia. I went on over to the museum to donate my dung beetle, thinking it would be the last bug I needed - but Blathers didn't mention anything about the bug section being complete. I checked the sign board out the front and noticed I hadn't donated a walking leaf. Sadly, these don't appear over wifi (so I can't have a friend time travel to July so I can catch one), but it's not too bad, I have to wait until the next Bug-Off (in June), to claim my golden net, and July is only the month after, so I guess it's not that bad.

So thus, I decided to build my first snowman. I decided to build the snowmam, just so I could get the ice set completed. It took a little fiddling to get the snowballs to their right sizes, but I managed to get the correct dimensions (which I honestly was not expecting at all), and make her prefect, so she only asked for 3 snowflakes instead of 5.

Then she started asking for snowflakes, and told me that she would trade them for items. Of course, I already had 6 in my pockets I had caught yesterday, so I traded them over. I didn't know if I could get anymore, as it wasn't snowing, and all through this morning when I played, I saw no snowflakes, so I thought I'd have to wait for it to snow to get some more. But apparently once you build a snowmam, snowflakes will fall regardless if it's snowing or not. So I managed to get a load of snowflakes and completed the ice series, and even get a couple of duplicates (yes, catching snowflakes is that addictive!).

Completed ice set (was too lazy to organize)

Ice set duplicates

The afternoon seemed to have a nice orange tinge to the sky. I never really play in the afternoon (as I've always disliked the afternoon color scheme - much like the falls), so I don't know if it looks like this always (I don't think it does, though), so this is either a one-off thing like auroras/meteor showers, or it's how the afternoons look in winter. Either way, it looked pretty nice so I took some happy snaps.

Yeah. I really enjoyed today, the snow was absolutely wonderful! I'm glad I actually had a fun first snow day, hopefully the proceeding days will be just as joyful. Now I'll probably continue watching Pokemon (haven't watched any all day), and grab something to eat. Cya!
