Mario Tennis Aces Coming to Nintendo Switch June 22nd

Announced back in January, today's Nintendo Direct finally allowed us to get a better in-depth look at the next instalment to the Mario Sports series - Mario Tennis Aces.

Mario Tennis Aces takes the average tennis gameplay and adds its own spin to the game. The game can be played traditionally with the Joy-Con controllers, or you can use the motion control function of the Joy-Cons as if you were holding a real tennis racquet. The game can be played locally by up to four players, as well as online, and will include a single player campaign mode. To start, the game will include 15 playable characters, though through official Online Tournaments, you can unlock special in-game outfits, and playable characters as a participation bonus. The characters that can be unlocked have yet to be revealed, though Koopa Troopa was teased.

For those who can't wait for until late-June to sink their teeth into the title, Nintendo announced a special pre-launch Online Tournament demo to let players test the waters. Official details of when the demo will launch will be revealed in the future.

Mario Tennis Aces will released in Australia on June 22nd, with a RRP of $79.95. You can watch the full run down below.
