Animal Crossing: New Horizons - Day 10

Our first day in double digits, and the day really lived up to the title with what felt like double the amount of work we completed today! I was pretty confident once the weekend rolled around I'd be able to get a lot of stuff done, and boy was I right. Now let's unpack, because there's a lot to get through.

As we started up this morning, we were greeted by Isabelle who told us someone was staying at the Campsite! This was Nublar's first camper, so I really hope we made a big impression. As you can probably guess, the Campsite was where I was heading first.

The anticipation was killing me of who could be waiting inside, and it was very unfortunate it was none other than Olaf. Don't get me wrong, I don't outright hate him, but he's not a standout by any means. Regardless, a camper was a camper, and I know Nook wanted to bring more people to Nublar to help Project K come to fruition, so I gave him my warmest greeting.

It was actually Olaf himself who brought up the idea of moving here, and even though I really didn't want him to, sometimes you've gotta put others first, so that's exactly what I did. Only one problem - Olaf didn't want to tread on any toes and wanted to get some approval from Tom Nook himself before making any concrete plans.

Over at the Resident Services, I noticed Mabel had once again set up her Tent. I figured Nook wouldn't mind a little detour, so I checked out her wares first. Surprisingly since she'd stopped by a number of times now, she thought now was a better time than any to finally set up her shop! Nook had a few supplies left over from Nook's Cranny which we could use to place the Tailor. I had a few ideas on where to place it, but I settled on a spot to the left of Plucky's house. I think it'll go well, given my overall plan. Now that was all sorted, it was time to see Nook.

He was excited to see me, and didn't waste a second in telling me to place a housing plot for Nublar's camper. I received another housing kit, which I placed down the South near the airport, along with the other houses so far. Once I placed the housing plot, Nook said I'd be able to place more plots in future. I went back to tell Olaf the good news, and he was more than thrilled to be starting a new life here.

My plan is to keep this area of the Island the "residential" area.  Since Rory's house had successfully been moved, I went ahead and moved Plucky's over this way, too. Eventually, I want to move Nook's Cranny to where Plucky's house is, The Museum to where Nook's Cranny is (maybe), and the Campsite to where The Museum is. I set down a few patterns to help me plan out the areas as best I could, so that's what I'll be doing over the next week or so.

Being a Sunday morning and all, that meant Daisy Mae was in town. I was undecided whether or not I wanted to buy Turnips after the previous weeks gamble, but once I saw the sow walking around, it was like I forgot about all the trauma and bought a bunch of Turnips, especially since they were going at 98 Bells apiece. I bought nearly 100,000 Bells worth, which is more than double I purchased last week... Let's just say my forehead is already sweating.

I know I said I wanted to focus on developing the Island now, but I figured since I'd done so much today it was time to treat myself. I started up by giving myself a fresh new haircut, and then working a little on my house. I have a fair few clothing pieces due to all Mabel's visits, and they were just collecting dust in my storage. I decided to decorate the west wing of my house to a "walk-in-wardrobe" situation to at least give it some flare. I also jazzed up the back room of my house with a few more furniture pieces I'd picked up along the way.

Rory must have taken note of all out hard work for the day, that he taught us the Sneezing Reaction. I spent some time doing a couple more things, but most of it is going to stay behind the scenes for now! I did dabble in a couple of Mystery Tours, but as always, they were nothing special.

So yeah, a pretty busy day in Nublar today. Like I said, the next week or two is going to be kind of crazy as I frantically relocate a number of buildings on the Island, as well as trying to fulfil Nook's dream. Hopefully I can score a win on the Stalk Market early in the week to give me a head start with all the Bells I'll be spending!

I ended up writing a nice little Hybrid guide today, complete with beautiful infographics! If you want to check that out, you can do so here. I spent most of my day doing that, so didn't get around to updating the other guides, but that'll be tomorrows job.
