Animal Crossing: New Horizons (Nintendo Switch) - Review Extravaganza

Image
You've wanted it, and we're bringing it. We've been with the game for a decent amount of time, and we've seen a few substantial updates which let us know what's to come in the future. This review will be very lengthy and in-depth to give our proper thoughts and experiences on the game!

Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Rescue Team DX (Nintendo Switch) - Review

Image
When it comes to  Mystery Dungeon , you either love or hate the series. When these games first came out, it took me forever to understand the gameplay, but once I did, I was hooked. I've enjoyed every PMD game since, but things started going south once they moved over to the 3DS. Something just wasn't right with Gates to Infinity, and even though Super Mystery Dungeon helped bring it back to it's roots, something still felt off. So how does this remaster of the original games compare? Let's find out! The game fully captures the charm of the originals and doesn't notably change anything up. The dialogue and story remains faithful to the source material, and a number of gameplay tweaks and improvements have been made for better quality of life. The game now auto-saves, and also has an "auto-mode" in the dungeons, where pressing the L button will make the player automatically walk through the dungeon until L is pressed again, or an enemy is near. More Animal Crossing Switch Accessories by Controller Gear Revealed

Image
Last month we shared some Animal Crossing themed decals for your Nintendo Switch made by Controller Gear, and now we've spotted bunch more accessories and decals. If you're still looking to get your Animal Crossing fix after missing out on the Limited Edition Console, you might be interested in these. Initially, we only saw some stickers and Switch skins, now they've revealed not only another Switch skin, but two very cute cases for your Switch Lite. The decal is a nice brown color, decorated with the Nookling duo, Timmy and Tommy. There's also a Switch Lite case that shared this theme, as well as a cutesy baby blue one. If we had a Switch Lite, we'd probably pick up the Nookling skin! If you're looking to purchase some of these for yourself, they should be readily available on your local countries amazon. It's less than 20 days until New Horizons hits store shelves, make sure you keep track of BidoofCrossing to stay up to date with the latest news...

Animal Crossing: New Horizons Direct Announced for Thursday

Image
Animal Crossing fans have eagerly been waiting for a look at the upcoming title since it was announced in September 2018. Unfortunately, we didn't get out first look until June 2019, where it was revealed to be delayed until 2020. Since then, we've barely seen much of the game, and fans have started worrying about further delays, or that the game won't have much to offer. Thankfully, to put us out of our misery, a dedicated New Horizons Direct will be airing this Thursday, and will include 25 minutes of new information. Tune in on February 21st at 01:00 AEDT for a roughly 25-minute livestreamed Animal Crossing: New Horizons Direct, featuring an in-depth look at Nook Inc.’s Deserted Island Getaway Package! pic.twitter.com/sZbogqId6F — Nintendo AU NZ (@NintendoAUNZ) February 18, 2020 For those of us in Australia, the presentation will be at 1am AEST Friday morning no February 21st, or 9am EST/3pm CET on February 20th for those in other corners of the globe. Taiwanese Advertisement Reveals Brand New Details for Animal Crossing: New Horizons

Image
There has been previous concern about the size of the island in comparison to the towns in previous titles. Seemingly, the upper tiers of the island looked unreachable, but this latest artwork reveals that won't be the case at all, with the inclusion of stairs! あつまれ どうぶつの森 pic.twitter.com/zCNRS93g8t — ワリオ (@wario65535) February 2, 2020 Since you start life on an island, it only seems logical there wouldn't be much going on. We theorise that after you've been on the island for a while, you'll unlock the ability to build stairs which will help you access the higher parts of the island. How to unlock the stairs isn't yet known, but it'll likely be something akin to Public Works Projects in New Leaf. I tried to improve the lighting & the colors! pic.twitter.com/D8zlfCxN13 — Irregu der Unregelmäßige (@lrregu) February 2, 2020 Additionally, we can also spot a few other details, including a fence. There is some fence up the top of the stairs, an...

Aloha! Animal Crossing: New Horizons Themed Nintendo Switch Revealed

For Animal Crossing fans, January 2020 started off with a bang, as the first official trailer was released. The rest of the month was rather quiet, par a few small reveals here and there, but Nintendo have ended the month with an even bigger bang, by revealing a beautiful New Horizons Themed Switch and accessories! We've also included links on where you can order them. Revealed earlier today, the Aloha Edition Nintendo Switch was revealed, and it's beautiful. So far, thee Switch has been Japan, America and Australia. No word for those in Europe yet, but we expect it to hit there.   Update: The console has now been announced for Europe! The Switch itself comes with a lovely themed dock with Tom Nook and the Nooklings on an island. More New Characters Leaked in New Horizons Merchandise

Image
Last week we mentioned we wouldn't be surprised if we saw some more leaks due to Blathers and Mabel's reveal on a Nintendo Switch case. This time, we've had a much more substantial leak that shows off an assortment of new villagers and special characters! The leak comes from Japanese retail outlet hmv , which shows off some Nintendo Switch stickers that can go on the back of your Switch to add some flare. These sticker sheets show off a huge number of villagers, many returning ones, as well as brand new ones! We'll ignore any returning villagers and simply focus on the new ones for now. These villagers include a horse, cat, bear, bear cub, goat, wolf and sheep. Unfortunately due to the small size of the sticker sheet, it's hard to get a nice HQ picture of them, but here's what we spotted. There's also what we assume to be special characters, being a chameleon of some sort, a boar, another dodo, and the beaver character again. It's ver...

Protect Your Nintendo Switch With This New Horizons Themed Switch Case

Image
With an assortment of Animal Crossing accessories revealed, it was only a matter of time until something of interest leaked, and this hard case reveals the return of both Blathers and Mabel, both of who we hadn't seen. The case is available currently on Dutch site Game Mania , but like the PowerA controllers , we expect these to available internationally very soon. We actually really love this case, and if we didn't already have one we'd certainly pick it up, and even now, we're tempted. The description tells us a little more about the case - it comes with a cart case, which will hold up to four game cartridges, and also comes with a micro SD card case, which can hold two cards. It also comes with an in-built adjustable stand, which allows you to play still in the case if you're extra worried about damaging your Switch, and a small storage space underneath to hold the Joy-Con straps. Unlike some other Switch cases, this one accommodates both the regular Switch ...

PowerA Releasing Two Animal Crossing Themed Switch Controllers

We've seen a tonne of accessories revealed last week, but now some Nintendo Switch controllers are finally seeing the light of day. Only two designs are revealed at present, one with Timmy and Tommy, the other with K.K. Slider himself. Whilst these aren't official pro-controllers, they're still licensed by Nintendo and are wireless, with all the features of a pro-controller minus amiibo functionality and HD rumble. Currently, only fnac France has these controllers online for €59.99 each. That said, we expect these, plus more, to be available in other counties in the near future. If you want a closer look at these controllers, head on over to fnac .  B e sure to follow BidoofCrossing on  Twitter  and  Tumblr  to stay up to date with the latest Animal Crossing and Nintendo news. Smash Direct Coming Later This Week

Image
After last weeks Pokemon Direct , Nintendo fans were expecting a general Nintendo Direct this week, though Nintendo has thrown yet another curve ball at us, announcing a special Smash Direct will end the week out, which will reveal the last character in the Season 1 Fighter Pass. Not much information was given other than a cryptic tweet. It will be a 35 minute long presentation that will reveal the new fighter, and go over them in detail. If it's anything like the previous presentations Sakurai has done, we're in for a treat! On 16/01 at 14:00 (UK time), join #SmashBrosUltimate director Masahiro Sakurai for a roughly 35 minute-long livestream featuring an in-depth look at an upcoming DLC fighter! The fighter will be unveiled in the video. More Animal Crossing Nintendo Switch Accessories Announced

Image
Yesterday we were introduced to a number of Animal Crossing Switch accessories by Hori , and today we've got a glimpse at another set, this time produced by Keys Factory. Unlike the ones by Hori, these appear simply to be Animal Crossing themed, and not to tie in with New Horizons, but they're still adorable none the less! The majority of their accessories are simply cases and pouches for your Switch console, but some of them come with joy-con covers that are Animal Crossing themed and really add to the overall look. Additionally, they also have cartridge cases that are Animal Crossing themed, and we absolutely love them. Unfortunately, they appear to only hold two 3DS or Switch cartridges, but they're still rather cute. We just wish they held more than two games. If you want to purchase some of these sweet accessories, you can do so over at hmv.co.jp . Animal Crossing: New Horizons launches for Nintendo Switch on March 20th, 2020. Be sure to follow Bid...

Image
It's been a busy week for Animal Crossing fans with a tonne of pre-order bonuses announced, but this time we've been treated to something that will be available outside of pre-orders, a number of Nintendo Switch accessories that are decked out with an Animal Crossing theme. There are 6 accessories that will be released, and are officially Nintendo licensed products, produced by Hori. Currently they're only available in Japan, but the good news is these accessories will  ship to parts of the US, so if you really want some and are willing to pay extra shipping, you can easily get your hands on them via Amazon, but unfortunately most of them are out of stock at the present. The accessories you can get your hands on are namely covers for your Switch, including carry bags, and a back-case for those that have a Switch Lite, but they also have a tote bag, a play-stand if you like to play in tabletop mode, and a storage bag for all your accessories. You can view the images b...
